Anne had another one of her mysterious vomiting episodes on Wednesday. This is the third such episode. Originally we thought maybe she was allergic to bananas since both of the other times she had eaten bananas hours before vomitting, but this third time there were no bananas involved. Anne also sounded like she had a sore throat the last couple days, so I took her to see the doctor. The doctor could find nothing wrong with her and said the vomiting could be a food intolerance, or reflux, or possibly we had just fed her too much.
I think it likely that we just fed her too much. This last time I had certainly fed her quite a bit. Now that I think back on it I think we had also given her ice cubes to suck on after eating each of the other times too - maybe the food plus the ice cubes plus some breast milk was just too much for her little tummy to handle. Anyway, I plan to feed her a little bit of banana this weekend to see if she is ok with it. It would really suck to be allergic to bananas.
Anyway, that was probably more information than you wanted to know. :) The doctor also weighed Anne and she weighed in at 9.25 kg (20 lbs, 6 oz) which is about the 93rd percentile. She is a little Plumpkin.
Yesterday Anne figured out what a mirror actually is. She would stare at the mirror until I did something like stick out my tongue or wave and then she would look at me, then back at the mirror. This is a repeatable result.
Anne has greatly improved her crawling skills. She can now reliably move from a sitting position to hands and knees and then back to a sitting position. Unfortunately she often crawls to a toy, moves into a sitting position, and then realizes that the act of sitting moved her back about a foot so that she can no longer reach the toy. It is sad.
Here are a couple of fun videos from last night. The first video is a short clip of Anne talking. Her voice is a bit hoarse since we think she has had a sore throat for the last couple days.
The second video is a long video of Anne chasing a pop can around our kitchen. We cut the video off at about 6 minutes, but Anne continued to chase the can around for at least another 10 minutes after we stopped recording. Anne had been staring longingly at this pop can of mine all day long so we finally duct-taped up a pop can for her. She was delighted. Unfortunately this is not the best video of her crawling skills since her pants slip on the floor. She is much better on carpet, or with no pants on.
