Will it blend?
On Sunday I did the stupidest thing I have ever done in my life. I was trying to blend some steamed spinach for Anne using a hand blender. There wasn't really enough to blend so it was all getting stuck around the blade. Bright, young, educated person that I am, I used my finger to clear out the spinach from around the blade. As stupid as that was, it would have been okay if I hadn't somehow pressed the button at the same time with my other hand.
A few hours, paramedics, and stitches later, I was much better. The bandage is inconvenient when trying to pick up Anne, but luckily I've had plenty of help from Gus, Greta, Grandma B, and Grandpa B.
After consulting my family, it was decided that I shouldn't post any pictures of the stitches. Suffice it to say it is very appropriate for Halloween. Very Frankenstein. Instead please enjoy these photos of my beautiful baby girl.

Babbling!
Anne seems to be crashing through developmental milestones at a rapid pace. On Friday and Saturday Anne's "talking" consisted of sticking her tongue out and blowing with spittle flying everywhere. She did this pretty much all day long. On Sunday a switch went on and her speech changed to a more adult-like babbling with baa's and ahhh's and daa's. It is so cute. She sounds like a totally different baby. Every time I hear her I find myself looking around for some other baby.
On Saturday Anne was sick for the first time. She spent an awful hour throwing up every 10 minutes or so until she had nothing left to throw up, and then continuing to retch. It was so sad. I was very tempted to take her to a doctor, however she had no other symptoms and after an hour the throwing up stopped. She fell asleep for an hour in the carrier on Jeff, and then when she woke up she started eating again as normal. Poor little girl!
On Sunday Grandpa G gave Anne her first teething biscuit. Anne loved it. She gnawed that thing until it was nothing but mush. She did likewise with a frozen pizza crust that Grandpa fed Anne at Thanksgiving dinner.
Anne is progressing rapidly with her sitting. She often sits for five or ten minutes on her own without falling over and is perfectly capable of picking up toys and playing with them while seated. She is also getting better at getting to her hands and knees, although her violent rocking back and forth on them has not yet yielded any forward progress. She is far too large for her baby tub.
Here is a video of Anne eating a biscuit. Her manual dexterity still needs some work.
Anne refuses to talk on video, but here is something close.

One Step Closer to Crawling
Here is a video of Anne getting onto her hands and knees by herself this evening. She just started doing this yesterday.

Anne Has a Huge Head
Anne went to the doctor's today for her third set of immunization shots. She weighed in at 8.68 kg (19 lbs 2 oz, 95th percentile), has a height of 68 cm (80th percentile) and has a gigantic head circumference of 46 cm (>100th percentile... clearly this is not possible, but that's what the doctor said). I remeasured her head at home and it might not quite be 46 cm. Over 45 cm though I think.
This morning she figured out how to get onto her hands and knees on her own. She only did it two or three times and I don't have a photo yet.

Anne Learns to Sit
Anne is learning how to sit. She can sit for a few seconds before falling on her face. The video below is from this morning.
We can also see a second tooth starting to poke through Anne's gums. She has been especially fussy today but that could be teething or lack of sleep. She has also started biting me at feeding time. :( I feel like that Charlie-bit-me kid, only she didn't bite my finger.
