Also, just for fun, here is a video of us playing Head and Shoulders.

Anne "Grasps" a New Concept
Today I put a rattle in Anne's hand and she grabbed it and tried to put it in her mouth. She has been trying to eat her fist for about a week, but this is the first time she has put a toy in her mouth. See video below.

Large Marge Anne Sleeps Through The Night, Part 2
Anne slept through the night (7.5 hours) for the second time last night. Hurray!
On Monday we took Anne to the doctor's for her checkup and immunization shots. She is ten weeks old now and weighs 6.1 kg (~13.5 lbs) which put her in the 95th percentile. She is 62 cm long which puts her in the 100th percentile and has a head circumference of 41 cm which puts her in the 90th percentile. We have a large, healthy baby on our hands. She also got her immunization shots, one in each thigh. Anne was traumatized for about 5 minutes; her parents are traumatized for life. She was a bit fussy for the rest of the day, but otherwise seems to be just fine.
Anne is becoming quite the pleasant baby. She has off days, but she is more and more awake and happy more of the time. She smiles a lot now. Last week she decided her new favourite thing to smile at is somebody whistling (see video below). Now she smiles at all sorts of things. I'm not sure if she has officially laughed yet, but sometimes she smiles and squirms all over at the same time, which I take to be laughing.
(Please ignore the hideous, tone-deaf person on the right and focus on the adorable baby.)
We have spent the last two weeks visiting the two sets of grandparents. It has been a lovely time. It is so nice for both of us to be off at the same time and to be able to visit our family. It feels like a vacation... kind of... a vacation where we have to take care of a baby constantly. And we eat like it is a vacation, which is not helping to lose that pregnancy weight.
The weekend before last my cousin Casey threw Anne an incredible baby shower. She went all out with food, fun, and decorations and it was awesome. She made stuffed mushrooms, pumpernickel loaf and spinach dip, homemade pirogies, homemade lemonade, fruit and veggie trays, etc. She even ordered sushi. And she made an incredible cake with fondant icing that made it look like a professional cake. It even had a little fondant pacifier on it. There were games and a baby quiz. Good times were had by all. Anne slept most of the time, but she did dazzle us a few times with her smile.
Unfortunately I haven't been very good at taking pictures lately. There are a few posted below. I will try to take more for next time.
