Daddy's Secret Photo Stash

Jeff always has his phone on him, so he rarely ever misses the opportunity for a cute photo.  Unfortunately, I forget to look through his stash when I do blog posts.  As a result, I have two years of untapped cute photos to post.  I apologize if you've already seen one or two of them.

First Day of Preschool

Anne had her first day of preschool this past week.  We have been talking about it with her for weeks and she has been very excited.  She often plays preschool where in the closet or under the dining room table is the preschool and she goes there to "play and learn and talk".  We bought her a backpack that looks like an owl,  which she was also very excited to use.

Daddy dropped her off and was perhaps mildly disappointed when she did not seem concerned at all that he was leaving.  The preschool only lasts 2 1/2 hours and Anne will be going three times a week to start, and perhaps more if she likes it.  They have a two-way mirror through which you can observe the kids playing, so we went early to pick her up and watch the last 20 minutes of play.  Anne unsurprisingly had found four dolls and had them all lined up on the couch and was feeding them sippy cups and bottles.

Afterward the teachers told us that she had no problems at school and that she had even tried the little toilet they have there, although with no luck.  Next week the regular school schedule starts.

In other news, here are some interesting things Anne has said recently:

  • The lion isn't feeling well.  He ate something bad.  He ate a goat.  His mommy and daddy are going to help him feel better.
  • (while sticking head through the door) leave the puce! (then closes the door.  She is quoting Monsters Inc., her favorite movie).
  • (while wearing a toy oven mitt and balancing fake toast on a toy spatula) Daddy, I need a plate!
  • (sung over the baby monitor to the tune of The Farmer in the Dell) Mummy's tummy is big, Mummy's tummy is big, hi-ho-the-dairy-o, Mummy's tummy is big.  Big bigger and big, big bigger and big, hi-ho-the-dairy-o, big bigger and big...

The weight of the backpack is not dragging her off centre.

Charlie Meets World

Introducing Charles Leo, born Thursday September 5, 2013 at 7:54 pm.  Charlie came out with a full head of hair, very long fingernails, and no eyebrows to speak of.  He weighed in at 3620 g (7 lbs 15.5 oz) and measured 21.5" long.

Today Charlie had his one week checkup.  He has already regained his birth weight and is doing great.
