Finally

Major events:

• Anne turned 3 years old.  That same week she wrote her own name for the first time.
• Charlie got his first tooth at 7 months old.  He now has four (all his front teeth).
• Charlie crawled for the first time at 8 months old.
• Charlie had his first hair cut just before 9 months old.  He was born with brown hair, but it grew in really light blond.  It looked like he had dyed his hair and it was growing out.  When he got his hair cut he looked like a totally different baby.
• Charlie waved for the first time at 9 months old.  
• At his 9 month check-up, Charlie weighed nearly 19.8 lbs (50th percentile), is 28.2" tall (50th percentile), and has a head circumference of 46 cm (80th percentile).
• Charlie starts signing "all done" at about 9.5 months old.
• Charlie starts pointing and clapping at about 10.5 months old.
• Anne and Max tried a music class for a couple of months.  They didn't like it very much.
• Anne took gymnastics for a couple of months over the summer.  She absolutely loves it.
• Anne spiked a fever and had a partial febrile seizure.  We took a trip in an ambulance to the hospital, but she was fine.
• Anne had an allergic reaction and had to go to the hospital again.  We have since fed her everything she ate that morning again, but have had no more reactions.  She sees an allergist in September.
• We had visits from both Aunt Lauras.
• There was a Canada Day street party with swimming, smores, and fireworks.  
• We visited the land a bunch of times.
• Anne has become quite the swimmer.  She can swim all by herself with her life jacket on.  She even jumped off of the diving board once (into Daddy's arms).
• We have visited Gramma and Grampa B a few times where Anne loves to play in their trailer.  She goes to sleep, wakes up, goes to the bathroom, has breakfast, and then does it all over again.
• We have been going to Aunt Greta's house for a weekly garden class where we learn about bugs, animal homes, plants, etc.  The kids have a lot of fun playing in the yard.
• Anne has been off from preschool during the summer months, so both kids are at home with me.  It is quite exhausting.  I am looking forward to preschool starting in a few weeks.
• Charlie loves to cuddle anything and everything soft.  It is ridiculously cute.
• We all flew to Pender Island for Aunt Laura's wedding (photos to follow in a future post)
• Charlie turned 1 year old (photos to follow in a future post)
• Charlie says his first word (stay tuned for future post)

Funny things Anne says:

• While answering Brain Quest questions, there is a picture of a piano and the question is, "What is this?"  The answer on the card is "piano."  Anne answers, "Upright piano!"
• At Gramma's house, Anne hears the clothes dryer buzzer and says, "Fire drill!"
• Anne says to Grampa, "Did you call us at any point?"
• Anne likes to start all of her stories with, "When I was two and I could walk and talk..."
• Gramma explains to Anne that she just can't figure out how to get the coffee maker to work at our house.  Anne goes and gets one of her little chairs, pulls it up to the wall, stands on it, flicks the light switch, and says, "Well, the power is on."
• "We are driving so fast the ground looks like mashed potatoes!"
• "I just washed my hands with water from my nose."
• After using the washroom: "It smells like chocolate in here."
• Sung to a merry tune: "I don't want to be killed or eaten." (repeat)
• Sung to a merry tune: "I don't want to diiiiiiieeeeee! Way down yonder in the paw paw patch."
• Daddy was lying on the floor playing, and Mommy came over to hug him.  Anne sees us and says, "I want a piece of that action!" And runs over and jumps on top of us.
• Anne says, "I have a great new idea for a movie.  It's called "The Jabberwocky Goes to the Library."

Anne got a scooter for her 3rd birthday.  She has gotten extremely good at it and scoots at an amazingly fast speed.
