Spring Adventures

There's not too much to report.  Anne is learning and growing at a rapid rate, but they are small milestones rather than anything big and exciting.  For example, she learned how to push me away a couple of days ago.  She also learned how to climb up onto grandma and grandpa's low couch.  She is getting very good at indicating her wants with the "more" sign followed by pointing to what she wants.  For example, when she wants to go outside, she'll walk over to the door, do the "more" sign, and then point at the door.

Anne can still only say four words: "dada" (daddy), "mama" (mommy), "baba" (boom), and "baaaba" (baby).  She will try to repeat a word if you ask her to say it, but it usually comes out all wrong (eg. "kitty" is "ttee") and she doesn't remember how to say it the next time.  She does however understand a LOT of words.  The other day she was holding her toothbrush and her doll and I asked her if she was going to brush the baby's teeth.  She looked at the toothbrush, looked at the baby, looked at the toothbrush, looked at the baby, and then proceeded to brush the baby's teeth (I had never shown her how to do this).  It was pretty darned cute.

Last week on a warm day we took Anne to the splash pad at the park near our house.  She LOVED it, even though the water was freezing and her teeth were soon chattering.  She would eagerly run right into the spray, then run right back out as fast as she could back to mom to make sure everything was ok.

It has been raining a lot lately so we've been taking Anne out to enjoy it.  She really loves splashing in puddles, sitting in puddles, and feeling the water as it falls off of the roof.
